You can permanently delete your Masarap Cafe account at any time. This page explains the options available to you, what happens when you delete your account, and how to request deletion if you no longer have access to the app.

Option 1 — Delete from the mobile app

  1. Open the Masarap Cafe app and sign in.
  2. Go to Account → Settings → Delete account.
  3. Enter your password (and your two-factor code if you have two-factor turned on), type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account.
  4. You will be signed out on every device. The action is final.

Option 2 — Delete from the website

Sign in at masarapcafe.com/login and open Account Settings → Profile. Scroll to the Danger Zone section, confirm your password and the DELETE phrase, and submit.

Option 3 — Request deletion by email

If you cannot sign in (lost device, forgotten password without recovery access, or any other reason), email us at dpo@masarapcafe.com from the email address on the account with the subject “Account deletion request”. We will verify your identity (typically by sending a confirmation link to the account email) and complete the deletion within 30 days — usually within 72 hours.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is removed or irreversibly anonymized:

  • Profile — name, email, phone number, saved addresses, and date of birth.
  • Order history — the order records remain for tax and accounting purposes, but every personally identifying field (name, email, phone, shipping address) is permanently overwritten with placeholder values.
  • Reviews — any reviews you submitted are hidden and their content overwritten.
  • Sessions and devices — every signed-in session is revoked and all push-notification tokens are removed.
  • Marketing & communications — email, SMS, and push opt-ins are cleared so you stop receiving any communications from us.
  • Loyalty rewards — your rewards balance and ledger are deleted. Rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
  • Payment-provider records — any saved payment method reference is removed from our systems. Card data itself is held only by our PCI processors (Stripe / Square), never by Masarap Cafe.
  • Crash and audit logs — prior diagnostic records are scrubbed of personal identifiers immediately at deletion.

What we are required to keep

A short list of records must be retained for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention reasons. These are kept in anonymized form and are not linked back to you:

  • Financial records — invoices and receipts: 7 years (US tax law).
  • Anti-fraud signals — abuse fingerprints (no PII): up to 2 years.
  • The fact that a deletion request was made — an immutable audit row recording the request itself: 2 years. This contains no personal data beyond a system identifier.

Before you delete — download a copy of your data

Deletion cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your profile, addresses, order history, reviews, and rewards activity, request an export first from Account Settings (web) or in the app under Account → Privacy & data → Download my data. We deliver the export as a JSON file. You may also email dpo@masarapcafe.com to request an export.

Active orders block deletion

For your protection, deletion is blocked while you have an in-progress food or sauce order. Wait for the order to complete, or cancel it through the app, and try again.
